Step
1
The first
step will be navigating to General Account Settings, where you will find
an option to Download a copy of your Facebook data.

Now you
shall be taken to a new screen, where, in order to recover your photos, videos,
chat conversations, you will have to click on the green button that says “Start
My Archive”. With this you’ll be able to download everything that you’ve posted/done
on your Facebook account since you first made a Facebook account.

On having
done that, a dialog box displaying “Request
My Download,” will appear. After this, you will have to click on “Start My Archive” again to start
gathering your data.

Post this,
you will receive a link to download your files via your email account
that you use to login Facebook. Login to your email account and click on the
link.

Now on
your screen, you shall see an option to “Download Archive”. On clicking,
it will ask you to re-enter your password for security reasons. With that done,
Facebook will start generating your personal archive and it will be downloaded
to your computer.

Now these
downloaded files are zip files, so extract these files and look up for lost
photos, videos, messages. The files will be in .html format, double click on
the file and select browser of your choice to open the file.
